Boris and Gleb (Kievan Rus’ Unknown – 1015/19) were the first Christian saints canonized in Kievan Rus’ around 1071. There is currently a debate as to the true relationship of the two saints. It was assumed they were brothers but this theory has found objection among scholars in recent times. Most iconic depictions show the men together. Their Saints day is observed on July 24 (August 6).
